Specific measure in respect of certain grain legumes for human and animal consumption

PURPOSE : to amend Regulation 1577/96/EC introducing a specific measure in respect of certain grain legumes. COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Regulation 811/2000/EC. CONTENT : the amendment introduced by the Council aims to subdivide the maximum guaranteed areas for certain grain legumes (160 000 hectares for lentils and chick peas and 240 000 hectares for vetches) because the MGA system applied to those crops taken together hitherto has not made it possible to manage properly the development of land under crops by reason, in particular, of the increase in the area under vetches since application of the system started. ENTRY INTO FORCE : the Regulation shall apply with effect from the 2000/2001 marketing year.�
