Decision on setting up the delegations to the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, to the Caribbean-EU Parliamentary Assembly, and to the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly, and defining their numerical strength

The European Parliament adopted a decision on setting up the delegations to the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, to the Caribbean-EU Parliamentary Assembly, and to the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly, and defining their numerical strength.

Pursuant to the Samoa Agreement, the Parties established the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS-EU) Joint Parliamentary Assembly at the level of OACPS and the EU Party, and a Regional Parliamentary Assembly for each of the three Regional Protocols.

This resolution decides to set up:

- a delegation to the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, with 78 Members;

- a delegation to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, with 48 Members;

- a delegation to the Caribbean-EU Parliamentary Assembly, with 15 Members;

- a delegation to the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly, with 15 Members.

Parliament decides that:

- the bureau of the delegation to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, shall consist of the president of the delegation and four vice-chairs;

- the bureau of the delegation to the Caribbean-EU Parliamentary Assembly shall consist of the president of the delegation and two vice-chairs;

- the bureau of the delegation to the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly shall consist of the president of the delegation and two vice-chairs;

- the bureau of the delegation to the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly shall consist of the president of the delegation and the presidents and vice-chairs of the delegations to the Africa-EU Parliamentary Assembly, the Caribbean-EU Parliamentary Assembly and the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly.

The resolution stated that the delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly shall be discontinued.

This decision shall enter into force on 1 January 2024.
