Court of Auditors: appointment of an Italian member
PURPOSE: to appoint an Italian Member of the Court of Auditors.
PROPOSED ACT: Council Decision.
CONTENT: under Article 247, paragraph 3, of the EC Treaty and Article 160b of the EAEC, Members of the Court of Auditors are appointed by the Council, acting by a qualified majority after having consulted the European Parliament.
Given that the term of office of Mr Pietro Russo, appointed as a member of the European Court of Auditors on 1 March 2018 upon his nomination by Italy, will expire on 29 February 2024, the Italian government has proposed Mr Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi as a member of the European Court of Auditors.
Consequently, this proposal aims to inform the European Parliament about the nomination of Mr Carlo Alberto Manfredi Selvaggi, an accounting judge who is a president of section and has experience in relations with the European Union in carrying out his professional activity.
