Controls at borders: fight against counterfeit travel documents. Initiative Germany

PURPOSE : to improve the means of combating counterfeit travel documents. COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Decision 2000/261/JHA on the improved exchange of information to combat counterfeit travel documents. CONTENT : The decision provides that a reporting system for detecting counterfeit travel documents will be used. The exchange of information will not include any personal details. Annex I to the decision sets out the standard form to be used to transmit the relevant information. For the purposes of the uniform collection of information which may be needed for criminal proceedings, Member States must use the questionnaire set out in Annex II.�
