EC/Croatia agreement: provisional application of an interim agreement for the trade provisions

PURPOSE: to conclude an Interim Agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the European Community and Croatia. CONTENT: the objective of this decision from the Council is to approve the Interim Trade Agreement on trade and trade-related matters between the EC and Croatia which was initialled on 10 July 2001. The absence of a separate, pre-existing Transport Agreement between the European Community and Croatia requires the inclusion of the relevant, trade-related, transport provisions under Protocol 6 of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement. In the absence pre-existing contractual structures this Agreement establishes an Interim Committee for the implementation of this Agreement. �
