On the 16 June 2001, the Council consulted the European Parliament, by letter, on the proposed Regulation. The European Parliament gave its opinion on 23.10.2001 on this proposal.
Given that it appointed a management committee procedure for the implementation of Article 8, COREPER decided on 19 December 2001 to reconsult the European Parliament on this text. �
