Common organisation of the market in wine: replanting and new planting rights

PURPOSE: To facilitate generational replacement in the wine sector. COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Regulation 2585/2001/EC amending Regulation 1493/1999/EC on the common organisation of the market in wine. CONTENT: In order to allow young farmers the right, on a temporary basis to access the restructuring aid scheme, Council Regulation 1493/1999 has been amended. Regulation 1493/1999 shall now cover the new planting rights awarded within the framework of material improvement plans and those awarded to young farmers during the 2000/2001 and 2002/2003 marketing years. Provisions governing the use of replanting rights in general and of new planting rights awarded within the framework of material improvement plans and to young farmers, in the implementation of programmes, will be added. The Regulation has been further amended to list the products under CN code 2204 10, 2204 21 and 2204 29 to which the provisions will apply. ENTRY INTO FORCE: 30/12/01.�
