The Committee welcomes the Commission proposal as an appropriate means of simplifying Community legal texts which make for clearer and easier understanding, subject to the following comments: The Commission is advised to take appropriate, legally binding steps quickly to remove the existing discrepancies in the interpretation of Article 6 of Directive 91/263/EEC. The Committee recommends that the wording of Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 88/336/EEC be brought into line as soon as possible to avoid confusion regarding the repealing of Article 10.4. as set out by Article 9.4. of Directive 91/263/EEC.�
