Transport of goods by inland waterway: freedom to provide services

The ESC could not but approve the proposal for a regulation, as not only was it necessary to comply with the Court of Justice decision but it was also consistent with the principle of freedom to provide services, which the Committee had supported in numerous Opinions dealing with other transport modes.
