Support system for producers of certain arable crops (amend. Regul. 1765/92/EEC)

The Committee adopted the compromise report by Mr BALDARELLI. The vote on the original report had been put off from previous meetings due to considerable debate over which areas should be covered by the proposed measures. The Commission proposal was for it to be applied throughout the Community, while the rapporteur felt that it should be restricted to Objective 1 and 5b areas and those regions which had suffered serious environmental damage. The compromise reached provides for 'special priority' to be given to these regions. �
