Ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin: common organisation of the market CMO

The committee adopted the report by María del Pilar AYUSO GONZÁLEZ (EPP-ED, E) rejecting the proposal under the consultation procedure because it only covered alcohol of agricultural origin and did not include synthetic alcohol. The committee feared that the EU's traditional alcohol market would be disrupted, especially after enlargement, if synthetic alcohol was not included under new market rules and wanted the Commission to withdraw its proposal and present a new one taking account of the committee's concerns.�
