Amending and supplementary budget 3/2002

The committee adopted the report by Guido PODESTA' (EPP-ED, I) and Kathalijne BUITENWEG (Greens/EFA, NL) approving Supplementary and Amending Budget 3/2002 without amendment. It also called on the Commission to make a detailed analysis of the causes which had led to a surplus of EUR 15 billion for the 2001 financial year and reiterated its concern, already expressed in its report on SAB 2/2002 (see factsheet BUD/2002/2043) on the build-up of outstanding payments. The Commission was asked to evaluate the situation before 30 September 2002 and, if necessary, submit the appropriate adjustments either under the omnibus transfer procedure or by means of a supplementary budget. �
