Rice: common organisation of the market CMO

PURPOSE : to amend regulation 3072/95/EC on the common organisation of the market in rice. CONTENT : Regulation 1251/1999/EC lays down that the area aid for arable crops must be paid between 16 November and 31 January following the beginning of the current marketing year. Following the inclusion of rice in the integrated control system, applications for aid for areas sown with rice are included in applications for area for arable areas. This means that checks are carried out on all areas covered by an application irrespective of the crops sown. Consequently, the payment period for compensatory aid for rice, provided by Regulation 3072/95/EC, should be amended by adopting the same dates as for arable crops, provided for by Regulation 1251/1999/EC. �
