Development of trans-European networks in the energy sector

The committee adopted by report by Mr ADAM. In its amendments, the committee recommended that financial resources earmarked for the networks be used by the Community to support efforts undertaken by Member States in the form of aid for economic, social and technical feasibility studies and, where necessary, for loan guarantees or interest-rate subsidies. It reiterated that priority should be given to trans-European energy networks which fostered economic and social cohesion. Finally, with regard to comitology, it called for provision to be made for an advisory committee.�
