EEC/San Marino cooperation and customs union agreement. Protocol after the 2004 enlargement

PURPOSE : to update the agreement on Co-operation and Customs Union between the Republic of San Marino and the EU following the accession of ten new Member States.
PROPOSED ACT : Council Decision.
CONTENT : the Co-operation and Customs Union between the EU and the Republic of San Marino entered into force in April 2002. Following the accession of ten new Member States to the EU in May 2004, the Council authorised the Commission to re-open negotiations with San Marion in order to update the previously arranged agreement by drawing up a Protocol to the Customs Union. Negotiations were completed in February 2004. The Commission, therefore, proposes that the Council adopt a Decision on the conclusion of a Protocol to the Agreement on Co-operation and Customs Union between the EU and the Republic of San Marino.�
