The committee adopted the report by Sérgio SOUSA PINTO (PES, P) rejecting the Danish initiative under the consultation procedure on the grounds that it was aimed merely at enabling the Member States to exchange details on disqualifications, which would not bring about any progress in the fight against organised crime, nor in the application of mutual recognition of court decisions in criminal matters. It amounted to no more than an information system and therefore had no added value.�
