Transitional arrangements required in the agricultural sector, Uruguay round

1994/0228(CNS)
The proposal for a regulation laid down the adaptations and transitional measures required in the agricultural sector in order to implement the agreements concluded during the Uruguay Round. This involved mainly the Agreement on Agriculture, the Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, the Agreement on Safeguards and the Agreement on Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement). With regard to the agricultural sector, these agreements related to the following four aspects: internal support, trade with third countries, the protection of denominations of origin and a veterinary system relating to international trade.
