EC staff regulation: classify the Economic and Social Commitee ESC and the Committee of Regions in EC institutions

In its amended proposal, the Commission adopted Parliament's amendment which sought to include the Ombudsman on the list of bodies assimilated as institutions of the Communities. It also added a new paragraph which stated that authorities which have the power to appoint the officials of these institutions (the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions and the Ombudsman's Secretariat) should be determined by their respective rules of procedure. �
