Improving the efficiency of agricultural structures (amend. Regul. 2328/91/EEC)

OBJECTIVE: pursuant to the undertaking given by the Commission under the price-package compromise of July 1996, the proposal is intended to extend for two years, for mainland Portugal, the special provisions laid down by Regulation (EEC) No 2328/91 applying the compensatory allowances in the less-favoured areas of that country. SUBSTANCE: with a view to improving Portugal's agricultural structures, the Commission proposes extending the provisions under which the compensatory allowances for less-favoured areas may be granted to farmers farming at least one hectare of utilized agricultural area. �
