Control system applicable to the Common Fisheries Policy (amend. Regulation 2847/93/EEC)

OBJECTIVE: to amend Regulation (EEC) No 2847/93, especially as regards the measures needed to ensure compliance with the control system applicable to the common fisheries policy. SUBSTANCE: the proposed amendments extend to the Baltic Title IIa of Regulation (EEC) No 2847/93, and in particular the provisions concerning recording of data on fishing effort in the logbook, the procedures for forwarding the lists of named vessels to the Commission, the collection of data on fishing effort by the Member States and the forwarding of the assembled data to the Commission. The Commission proposes that the Council adopt the proposal by 31/12/1997 at the latest.�
