Euro: transitional measures to be applied under the common agricultural policy CAP (abrog. regul. 3813/92/EEC)

OBJECTIVE: to facilitate the transition from the existing agrimonetary arrangements to those which are to replace them. SUBSTANCE: when the euro is introduced on 01/01/1999 and 'green rates' are accordingly abolished, prices and direct aids may be reduced in national currency. The Commission proposal seeks to facilitate the transition from the existing agrimonetary arrangements to the new arrangements by providing for aid to compensate for loss of income to farmers following the abolition of the existing agrimonetary arrangements. �
