Denominations and technical specifications of euro coins intended for circulation

OBJECTIVE: to amend Regulation 975/98/EC to the extent necessary to give satisfaction to the
abovementioned specific requirements recently expressed by the vending industry and the
European Blind Union.
SUBSTANCE: The proposal for a regulation is exclusively aimed at amending the weight of the
50 cent coin and the definition of the edge of the 50 cent and 10 cent coins. The other features
of Regulation 975/98/EC remain unchanged and are outside the scope of this proposal.
