Social security: employed persons, self-employed persons and their families (amend. regul. 1408/71/EEC, 574/72/EEC)

OBJECTIVE: to amend Regulations (EEC) No 1408/71 and 574/72 on coordination of social security schemes to take account of various changes to national legislation in 1998. SUBSTANCE: The proposal seeks to update these two Community Regulations to take account of changes to national legislation, certain bilateral agreements concluded between Member States, and the possibility of amendments to the annexes to the implementing Regulation being made by the Commission.�
