Motor vehicles and trailers: liquid-fuel tanks, rear underrun protection (amend. direct. 70/221/EEC)

The Commission's amended proposal takes up the European Parliament's amendments concerning the modification of the timetable (which will have to be re-established once the Member States will have given their opinion) and the definition of 'unladen mass'. However, the Commission did not accept the amendments that sought to: - introduce requirements regarding fuel spillages which may be a hazard to cyclists and motor cyclists; - change the comitology arrangements; - exclude the accessories of the tank from mechanical strength testing.�
