Transport of dangerous goods by road, inland waterways or rail: examination requirements for safety advisers

The common position adopted by the Council lays down the minimum examination requirements for safety advisers and for specific examinations and for examination bodies while leaving open the possibility of arranging specific examinations. Virtually all of the European Parliament's amendments accepted by the Commission (except one) have been incorporated in the common position. Despite the differences between the Commission's amended proposal and the common position, in particular as regards the contents of the examination and the deletion of the Committee, the Commission delivers a favourable opinion on the common position as a whole which guarantees that examinations will be of a level equivalent to that of the amended proposal while leaving open the possibility of arranging specific examinations.�
