Provisions governing the exercise of the European Parliament's right of inquiry

The European Parliament, the Council and the Commission adopted the Decision defining the European Parliament's procedures for exercising its right of inquiry, in accordance with the provisions laid down in the treaties. The decision clarified the scope of: - the power of inquiry; - possible incompatibilities; - responsibilities with regard to taking evidence; - the requirement of confidentiality; - the results of a parliamentary inquiry. �
