Application of market regulation in the wine sector, 1986 enlargement
1994/0315(CNS)
The Council adopted Regulation (EC) No 497/95 which sought to amend Regulation (EEC) No 4007/87 extending the period during which transitional measures may be applied by the Commission in order to facilitate the transition of the arrangements which exist in Spain and Portugal prior to their accession to the COM schemes as applied under the conditions defined in the Act of Accession (notably to resolve the significant problems associated with the implementation of the new arrangements as scheduled). The expiry date for this period, which is set for 31.12.1987 in the Act of Accession, has been extended in Regulation (EEC) No
4007/87 (lastly amended by Regulation (EC) No 370/94) to 31.12.1994 for both countries. The present Regulation extends this period by a further year (to 31.12.1995) in order to deal with the technical problems associated with the application of the rules applying in the wine sector of these two Member States. The Regulation was to be applicable from 1.01.1995.
