Transitional arrangements required in the agricultural sector, Uruguay round

Parliament approved the Commission's proposal subject to the four amendments it had introduced. These modifications sought: - to ensure that the measures to be taken to facilitate the transition from the existing regime to that resulting from the adjustments to the requirements of the agreements were drawn up in accordance with procedure I, as provided under Article 2 of Decision 87/373/EEC; - to ensure that the Commission kept Parliament informed of the measures taken in applying the regulation and reported on how these complied with the provisions of the agreements; - to ensure that the Commission kept Parliament informed annually of the adjustments and transitional arrangements taken to implement the agreements, by specifying the administrative costs and parameters retained, with a view to assessing the level of operating appropriations; - to fix the date of entry into force of the Regulation for 1.01.1995. �
