Convention on the future of the European Union: 2002 discharge of the financing Fund

This document requests the Council's assent concerning the discharge to be given to the Secretary-General of the Convention on the future of the European Union in respect of the implementation for the financial year 2002 of the budget of the Fund set up for the financial of the Convention. To recall, in its report, the Court of Auditors said that its audit had enabled it to obtain reasonable assurance that the accounts for the financial year ended 31 December 2002 were reliable and that the underlying transactions were, on the whole, legal and regular. The Budget Committee examined the Court's report on implementation of the Convention budget at its meeting on 22 May 2003 and following that examination, agreed to suggest to the Permanent Representatives Committee that it advises the Council to give its assent concerning the discharge to be given to the Secretary-General of the Convention in respect of the implementation for the financial year 2002 of the budget of the Fund set up for the financing of the Convention.�
