Registration documents for motor vehicles and their trailers

Adopting the report by Mr Jean-Pierre BAZIN (UPE, F), the European Parliament approved the Commission proposal seeking to integrate the provisions of the Convention relating to the information to be shown on registration documents in order to make them more binding and include additional information. However, Parliament calls for the possibility for part I of the registration certificate to show details of anti-fraud security markings which have been placed on the vehicle and its parts. It also called on Member States to adopt by 31 December 1998 the laws, regulations or administrative provisions necessary to comply with the directive from 31 December 1999. �
