Aid to shipbuilding: prolongation of the 7th directive to the 31/12/98

In adopting the report by Mr Niels SINDAL (PSE, DK) Parliament approved without amendment the proposal for a regulation prolonging the Community measures in force until 31 December 1998. The reason for the extension is based on the fact that the United States has not yet ratified the OECD agreement on aid to shipbuilding. According to this agreement all aid measures would be prohibited in most cases. �
