EC/Latvia fisheries agreement

Parliament adopted the report by Mr Heinz Kindermann (PSE, D) concerning the conclusion of an Agreement on Fisheries Relations between the European Community and Latvia. It asked that each year, before the start of bilateral consultations between the Parties, the Commission should submit to the Council and Parliament a report on the application and implementing conditions of the Agreement. On the basis of that report and taking account of the Parliament's opinion thereon, the Council should authorize the Commission, where appropriate, to start negotiations with a view to the adoption of a new Protocol. �
