EC staff regulation: term of office of EC officials Staff Commitee

OBJECTIVE: to amend Annex II of the Staff Regulations of Officials of the European Communities so that the term of office of the Staff Committee can be extended from two to three years. COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Regulation (ECSC, EC, EURATOM) No 2192/97 amending the Staff Regulations of Officials of the European Communities. CONTENT: in order to permit fuller implementation of the staff representatives' mandate, the term of office of members and deputy members of the Staff Committee has been extended to a maximum of three years (instead of two). The term of office may be set for a shorter period but must be at least one year. ENTRY INTO FORCE: 6 November 1997.�
