Air transport: allocation of slots at Community airports (amend. Regulation (EEC) No 95/93)

The European Parliament using its procedure without report, adopted a resolution on the allocation of slots at Community airports. It introduced the following provision to the Commission's proposal: air carriers which hold historical slots for summer scheduling season 2002 and winter scheduling season 2002/2003, although they do not use the slots in accordance with the 80% rule, must make a binding declaration that, after the end of those scheduling seasons, they will use the relevant slots once again. If this declaration is not submitted by 31 August 2002, the slots should be placed in the slot pool and made available to other applciants. If the slots are not used in accordance with the declaration submitted, the Member State concerned may impose a fine.�
