Animal feed sector: rules for calculating fees

OBJECTIVE: to lay down harmonised rules for calculating the level of fees to be charged for approving additives and registering establishments in the field of animal feedingstuffs. COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Directive 98/92/EC amending Directive 70/524/EEC concerning additives in feedingstuffs and Directive 95/69/EC laying down the conditions and the arrangements for approving and registering certain establishments and intermediaries operating in the animal feed sector. CONTENTS: the amendments introduced seek to ensure that the Council, voting by qualified majority at the proposal of the Commission, draws up the rules for calculating the level of fees to be charged for approving establishments and their intermediaries by 1 April 1999. ENTRY INTO FORCE: 22 December 1998. DEADLINE FOR TRANSPOSITION: 31 March 1999.�
