Rice: common organisation of the market COM, scheme for compensatory payment

OBJECTIVE: to amend Regulation 3072/95/EC on the common organisation of the market in rice with regard to the scheme for compensatory payment. COMMUNITY MEASURE: Council Regulation (EC) 2072/98. SUBSTANCE: The regulation aims to replace the national base area for Greece with two separate base areas covering the same total area, in order to maintain areas devoted to rice-growing in regions where there is no genuine possibility of alternative crops. ENTRY INTO FORCE: the regulation is applicable from 1.9.1998. �
