Counterfeit euro coins: analysis and cooperation

The European Parliament adopted a resolution drafted by Gerhard SCHMID (PES, Germany) and approved the Council proposal. Parliament also asked to be consulted on the initial Commission proposal. It felt that under Article 10 of the Treaty, Parliament should also have been consulted on the legislative proposal to which the draft decision relates, and that merely notifying Parliament of the basic text diminishes its role in the decision-making process.�
