Tobacco: manufacture, presentation and sale of products (recast of Directives 89/622/EEC, 92/41/EEC, 90/239/EEC)

The European Parliament approved the text by Mr Jules MAATEN (ELDR, NL) on the common position together with all the main amendments tabled to the common position, in particular as regards the size and wording of warnings on cigarette packets, the use of terms such as 'light' and 'ultra light', the use of colour illustrations on packets depicting the consequences of smoking, lists of permitted ingredients and chemical additives, and export derogations.
