European Commission: election for the term of office running from 22 November 2004 to 31 October 2009 and resolution on the election of the new Commission

PURPOSE : to adopt the list of persons whom the Council intends to appoint as Members of the Commission of the European Communities.

PROPOSED ACT : Council Decision.

CONTENT : the new Commission will be appointed for the period from 1 November 2004 to 31 December 2009. It will consist of one national from each Member State.

The following persons are nominated by common accord with Mr. José Manuel DURAO BARROSO, nominee for the President of the Commission, as members of the Commission for the period from 1 November 2004 to 31 October 2009:
