Carriage by air: unification of certain rules, approval of the Montreal Convention

PURPOSE : to approve on behalf of the Community on the Unification of certain rules relating to the International Carriage by Air (Montreal Convention). COMMUNITY MEASURE : Council Decision 2001/539/EC. CONTENT : this Convention is thereby approved on behalf of the Community. The Montreal Convention establishes a modern and uniform legal framework to govern liability of airlines for damage to passengers, baggage and cargo incurred during international journeys.
