Community statistics on the structure and activity of foreign affiliates
The committee adopted the report by Enrico LETTA (ADLE, IT) amending the report under the 1st reading of the codecision procedure:
- a number of amendments sought to ensure full call-back rights for the European Parliament in line with BASEL II;
- the Regulation must be implemented in such a way as to
ensure that the benefits of the measures outweigh the costs and that any
additional financial burden on
- separate categories should be created for goods and services as this would make it easier for the data to be compared with data published by the EU's main trading partners;
- pilot studies should be carried out on a mandatory, and not a voluntary, basis, and cost-benefit aspects should be borne in mind.
