EEC/San Marino cooperation and customs union agreement. Protocol after the 2004 enlargement
PURPOSE: The conclusion of a Protocol to the Agreement on Cooperation and Customs Union between the European Economic Community and the Republic of San Marino, taking into account the participation of the new member states following their accession to the European Union.

CONTENT: The Co-operation and Customs Union between the EU and the Republic of San Marino entered into force in April 2002. Following the accession of ten new Member States to the EU in May 2004, the Council authorised the Commission to re-open negotiations with San Marino in order to update the previously arranged agreement by drawing up a Protocol to the Customs Union. Negotiations were completed in February 2004.
