EC/Morocco Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement: 2004 enlargement of the EU. Protocol
PURPOSE: To establish an association between the EU and Morocco through the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, to include the ten new EU Member States.
LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council Decision 2005/695/EC on the conclusion of a Protocol to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, on the one part and the Kingdom of Morocco on the other, to take account of the ten new EU Member States.
CONTENT: This Decision establishes an association between the ten new EU Member States and the Kingdom of Morocco by means of the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement. The Protocol attached to the Decision contains certain changes relating mostly to agricultural provisions. For the rest the Protocol incorporates the new official languages of the EU into the text of the Agreement.
ENTRY INTO FORCE: The Protocol enters into force on the first day of the first month following the date of the deposit of the last instrument of approval. The provisions of the Protocol apply as from 1 May 2004.
