Stabilisation and association process: an Accession Partnership for Croatia

PURPOSE: To change Croatia’s Partnership status from “European” to “Accession” and to amend Regulation 533/2004 accordingly.

PROPOSED ACT: Council Regulation

CONTENT: In line with the wording of the 2005 Strategy Paper on enlargement and in order to be consistent with Turkey’s Accession Partnership status the Commission is proposing to change the name of Croatia’s Partnership title from “European” to “Accession”. This would bring it in line with Turkey, which like Croatia, has begun accession negotiations.
