Stabilisation and association process: an Accession Partnership for Croatia

PURPOSE : to amend Croatia’s Partnership status from “European” to “Accession” and to amend Regulation 533/2004/EC accordingly.

PROPOSED ACT : Council Regulation 269/2006/EC amending Regulation 533/2004/EC on the establishment of European partnerships in the framework of the stabilisation and association process.

CONTENT : the Council adopted a regulation amending regulation 533/2004 by changing the name of the "European partnership" for Croatia to "accession partnership" in order to align the name with that used for the partnership for Turkey, as both are candidate countries that have started accession negotiations on their accession to the EU.
