EC/Switzerland agreement: participation in the MEDIA Plus and MEDIA Training Community programmes

PURPOSE: to conclude and Agreement between the Community and the Swiss in the audiovisual field and establishing terms for Swiss participation in the MEDIA Plus and MEDIA Training Community programmes.

LEGISLATIVE ACT: Council Decision2006/234/EC concerning the conclusion of an Agreement between the Community and the Swiss Confederation in the audiovisual field, establishing the terms and conditions for the participation of the Swiss Confederation in the MEDIA Plus and MEDIA Training Community programmes.

CONTENT: in concluding this Agreement, the Community establishes the terms and conditions under which the Swiss Confederation may participate on the MEDIA Plus and MEDIA training programmes.

Financially speaking, the Swiss will be obliged to contribute, annually to the total cost of its participation. The amounts are set out in an Annex to the Agreement and are as follows: EUR 4.2 million in 2005; and EUR 4.2 million in 2006.

ENTRY INTO FORCE: 1 April 2006.
