Satellite personal communication services: coordinated authorisation; extension until 31 December 2003

PURPOSE : to extend Decision 710/97/EC on a co-ordinated authorisation approach in the field of satellite personal communications services in the Community. COMMUNTY MEASURE : Decision 1215/2000/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council extending Decision 710/97/EC on a coordinated authorisation approach in the field of satellite personal communications services in the Community. CONTENT : this Decision extends the validity of the existing framework. This shall now remain in force for 3 years after the previously proposed date i.e. until 31.12.2003. This will allow market players and regulators a continuing degree of certainty against which to plan their business strategies and investments, and give the Commission the continued legal base necessary to influence regulatory measures.
