Amending budget 4/2006 (ex-draft budget 3/2006): Section III Commission, Section VIII Part B European Data-protection Supervisor

On the basis of the draft amending budget No 3 to the 2006 general budget established by the Council on 11 July 2006, the European Parliament proceeded with its first reading of the text at its 27 September 2006 plenary session and adopted 5 amendments (please refer to the summaries dated 27 September 2006).

The budget committee examined the amendments on 2 October 2006 and reached an agreement, by  qualified majority, suggesting that the Committee of Permanent Representatives invite the Council to :

- reject, by way of amendment, the 5 amendments proposed by the European Parliament;

- approve the draft letter on this matter to be addressed to the European Parliament.
