Decision approving the appointment of Meglena Kuneva, new Member of the Commission nominated by Bulgaria

PURPOSE : to appoint the Romanian and Bulgarian Members of the European Commission.
LEGISLATIVE ACT : Council Decision 2007/1/EC appointing Members of the Commission of the European Communities.
CONTENT : Following the accession of Romania and Bulgaria to the European Union on 1 January 2007, this Council Decision states that Ms Meglena KUNEVA and Mr Leonard ORBAN are appointed Members of the Commission for the period from 1 January 2007 to 31 October 2009.
