EC/Algeria agreement: protocol to the Euro-Mediterranean association Agreement following the 2004 enlargement

This text takes into consideration a certain number of recent institutional developments within the European Union since the signature and the entry into force of the EU-Algeria Euro-Mediterranean Agreement (signed in Valencia on 22 April 2002 and entered into force on 1 September 2005).

The amendments concern the expiry of the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community, existing provisions in the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement referring to the European Coal and Steel Community shall be deemed to refer to the European Community, which has taken over all rights and obligations contracted by the European Coal and Steel Community.
